On Friday morning, June 2, 2017, the accreditation ceremony was held for the EPEP-Centro laboratory, which since 2008 has implemented a Quality Management System and has been accredited laboratory since the year 2011. Its staff has been able to enhance the quality of its projects at the cost of any sacrifice at a time when the country is in constant economic, political and social readjustment in order to adapt to the new ones -based info-bio-technological trends.
Participating in the certification were specialists: María Miranda, Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Body of the Republic of Cuba (ONARC), Gloria Madariaga of the ONARC evaluation team and Guillermina Alfonso Expert of the Petroleum Research Center. Also present were: Omar Cruz, Operations Director, José Miguel Verrier Castro, Technical Director of the Company and the Laboratory and Quality Group staff of the Center.
The purpose of this event was to provide the EPEP-Center Laboratory with the Certificate that confers the legal authority to bear the status of ACCREDITED in accordance with internationally established requirements according to ISO ISO 17025: 2006. This Certificate is one of the most important technical acknowledgments that an institution can receive in this activity.
For EPEP-Centro, and especially for the laboratory, this condition means a commitment and a responsibility to maintain and expand its scope, by improving its Quality System based on continuous improvement, with a high sense of belonging.
