General Objective:
Identify and analyze the conceptual, referential and methodological aspects required for the knowledge of the current oil situation and its direct interaction with the current commercial dynamics; visualizing through negotiation exercises, the current and future scenarios of this vital resource, in the functioning of the world economy.

Specific Objectives: • Identify and analyze the value chain of the Oil and Gas Industry and its future projections. • Know the main World Oil Centers and their commercial links, • Highlight the markets managed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the International Energy Agency (AIE), as well as the producing countries not associated with these organizations. • Analyze the Religion and its links as an element of decision making in the countries with the largest oil reserves. • Managing current market situations, making an exercise of proposals, with the intention of designing strategies for the commercialization of oil and its derivatives, based on the energy policies of the world’s economic blocs.

Methodological Strategies: To reach the objectives proposed by the Instructor, to approach through a collective work that includes: masterful exhibitions, case studies, practical and research works. A Negotiation exercise will be executed, starting from the Dynamics of a Game of Roles, with the intention of managing a current situation of Petroleum Geopolitics.

Directed to: Professionals and technicians Academic Content: 1) Oil and Geopolitics. Main features of the evolution of thought in the geopolitical field. Identify, evaluate and compare the importance of Petroleum within the World Geopolitics. Know the geopolitical elements of Oil that have led to the World race. 2) Oil and New Enclaves of Power Basic knowledge the details of the value chain, Exploration and Production, Refining and Commercialization of crude oil. Trading companies. Manage Gas information, as alternative energy. Oil as a global contention element. Distribution of Oil Power after the Second World War. Decade of the 50s and 60s. The war for oil in the 70s. Hubbert’s Peak. New Enclaves of power. 3) The Oil Organizations and their Production centers. Location of the World Oil Centers. Importance of the Organization of the OPEC Oil Exporting Countries. Importance of the International Energy Agency. Go up and down oil prices. The New World Order, Oil and Power. The BRICS. Petro Caribe and Petro América. Global scenarios today. The Persian Gulf. The Orinoco Oil Belt. The Caspian Basin The antartida. 4) Religion, Prices and Alternative Energies Religion as an element linked to producing countries. Raw materials, Markers and Calculation of Prices in the oil markets. Barrel Production Cost. Piracy and Terrorism. Alternative energies. The Fracking. The Biofuels. Maritime routes of oil transit. The Geopolitical War of the future. 5) Negotiating in the current Petroleum Geopolitics Location of the World Energy Centers. Role play dynamics to manage a real situation of Geopolitics. Proposal for the design of a Global Petroleum Geopolitics strategy, based on the energy policies of the world’s economic blocs.
